These pictures were taken at the dedication of the new Gould Academy science center in Bethel, Maine. While Ryoko Arai plays the piano, a Max/MSP/jitter program is projected on the screen behind her. The program analyzes the sound, displays the frequency, and draws animated line patterns in a box in the lower right of the screen. The program ran on a Macbook which was sitting on the piano lid. The photographer chose to avoid shooting the computer.
